BETHLEHEM, West Bank - Thousands of pilgrims gathered in Bethlehem's Manger Square Wednesday to celebrate Christmas in Jesus' traditional birthplace.
Festivities were expected to last all night long. The highlight is Midnight Mass at the Church of the Nativity. Jesus is believed to have been born there.
The pilgrims were under the protection of security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. |
